Found treasure!
Before I get to the treasure bit, I added a "subscribe" button to the blog so you don't have to check back every day wondering what I'm up to. Click the hamburger menu in the top left and you should see it. I think it'll send you an owl when I've posted something new. An owl - all the way from Washington!
Next time: The amazing animals, their names, and stories.
Right now I'm super excited - I stumbled into hidden (in plain sight!) treasure on the farm today! I was out in the alpacas' field and all along the fence line there was something familiar. I couldn't quite place it at first - I wasn't looking for it - but after looking at it for a bit and considering, I realized what it was!
The family who owns the farm never mentioned it and honestly I don't think they'd do anything with it if they recognized it. So I'm not going to say anything to them. I'm so excited - tomorrow morning before anyone is up, I'm going out to pluck as many as I can from the field and I'm gonna enjoy as much as I possibly can - maybe even sell some down the road if I can find the right people to buy.
CHOCOLATE COVERED ESPRESSO BEANS!
I had no idea where they came from, but now I know: They grow in grass pastures. This must be the perfect growing zone because they're freakin' everywhere in this field!!! Just look at this one small area -
I'm sitting on a gold mine I tell ya...and these people don't have any inkling!
I'll send you an update when I've taste-tested the goods. Meanwhile, let this be a lesson to us all: Treasure is everywhere - we just need to pay attention, be ready for the unexpected, and try new things even (especially!) when they're outside of our comfort zones!
Haha!
ReplyDeleteYa know, you might want to ask the alpacas if it's OK to sell these if you give them a cut of the profits.
ReplyDeleteThese sure do look like chocolate covered coffee beans! Made me think of the joke... This here looks like bear poop. Yes, it smell like it, let's taste it! And it tastes like it too! Sure glad I didn't step into it!
